The National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu hereby invites applications from suitably    qualified candidates to fill the following positions in the hospital:

Condition of service

1.

Consultant Orthopaedic/ Trauma Surgeon

MUST be a qualified medical doctor, registered with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and MUST  possess the  Part 11 final fellowship of BOTH  West African College of Surgeons (WACS) and National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria(NPMC) in orthopaedics.

1.NYSC discharge certificate or exemption and  a current practicing license. 2.Candidate must be ready to participate as trainer in NPMC and WACS residency training program of the hospital and must have published at least three articles in a reputable scientific journal. 3.Post fellowship experience in either Spine, Arthroplasty, Paediatric orthopaedics, or  Arthroscopy will be an added advantage

2.

Consultant  Burns/Plastic Surgeon

MUST be a qualified medical doctor, registered with  Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and MUST  possess the  Part 11 final fellowship of BOTH  West African College of Surgeons (WACS) and National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria(NPMC) in the relevant area of specialization.

NYSC discharge certificate or exemption and  a current practicing license
2.Candidate must be ready to participate as trainer in NPMC and WACS residency training program of the hospital and must have published at least three articles in a reputable scientific journal

This is as obtained in the Nigerian Federal Public Service

3.

Consultant Anaesthetist

MUST be a qualified medical doctor, registered with  Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and MUST  possess the  Part 11 final fellowship of  either  West African College of Surgeons (WACS) or National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria(NPMC

4.

A)Consultant Microbiologist
B)Consultant Chemical Pathologist

MUST be a qualified medical doctor, registered with  Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and MUST  possess the  Part 11 final fellowship of  either  West African College of Physicians (WACP) or National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria(NPMC)

NYSC discharge certificate or exemption and  a current practicing license
2.Candidate must be ready to participate as trainer in NPMC and WACS residency training program of the hospital and must have published at least two articles in a reputable scientific journal

This is as obtained in the Nigerian Federal Public Service

5.

Medical Officer

must possess MB,BS from a recognized university and registered with  Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, NYSC discharge certificate or exemption and with a current practicing license.

Candidates who are willing to pursue a career in the medical officer cadre will be accorded priority.

Nurses: 
a. Anaesthetic Nurse
b. Perioperative Nurse
c. ICU Nurse
d. Accident and Emergency Nurse
e. Orthopaedic Nurse
f. Burns/Plastic Nurse

  1. Must be a qualified nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and MUST possess in addition  a post basic qualification certificate in the specified specialties. (ie anaesthesia, theatre nursing,ICU, Accident&Emergency, orthopaedics or Burns and plastic Nursing)

 

Applicant must possess current practicing license.
Those with university degree must in addition have NYSC discharge certificate or exemption.
Those without relevant post basic qualification in the specified areas need NOT apply.

7.

Confidential secretary grade 2

Must possess HND  in secretary studies including a pass at 120 and 60 words per minute in short hand and typing respectively from a recognized secretarial/ technical institution

Applicants must in addition have NYSC discharge certificate or exemption.

Medical Records Officer

Must possess HND  in health information management from approved institution and registered with Health Records officers Registration Board of Nigeria

Applicants must in addition have NYSC discharge certificate or exemption.

Method of application
Interested and qualified candidates should submit a copy of application together with copies of relevant certificates (including Birth/Sworn Affidavit of age and Local Government Identification Certificates and Curriculum Vitae )  and  three (3) Referees' Reports (one of which must be from the current dean of the Faculty, Head of department or Head of the last place of work),sealed  in an envelope addressed to the " Medical Director, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu,  indicating the post your are applying for  on the upper right corner of the envelope and submitted to the office of the Head of Administration(ground floor of the administrative block) between the hours of 8am- 4pm Monday to Friday.
CLOSING DATE: Six (6) weeks from the date of this publication and only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview.
